Carbogatto LR Monocoque Essence Overview

Carbogatto LR Monocoque is an electric carbon masterpiece, inspired by the board trackers of the early 20th century and reinterpreted through the lens of 21st-century electric mobility. As the first and only benchmark in the luxury L1e-B segment, this vehicle embodies a new era of design and engineering excellence, driven by the relentless pursuit of innovation across generations.
Design
The timeless and unique design of the Carbogatto is protected by patents worldwide. Even in its base configuration, the Carbogatto LR Monocoque possesses a magnetic presence, inevitably drawing the attention of passersby. But Carbogatto goes further, offering a unique user experience by engaging customers in the creative process and providing limitless possibilities for personalization.
In addition to basic styles and configurations, the configurator will feature a section with liveries from the design community, showcasing works from talented designers worldwide.
In "You are creator mode," a dedicated team will collaborate to create something truly unique, fully expressing one’s individuality, emphasizing particular values or events, and reflecting this DNA* on the Carbogatto canvas.
*Both legislative and ethical/aesthetic limitations apply. Carbogatto reserves the right to approve designs before production
“Carbogatto is the perfect canvas for expressing a singular identity — a true Techno Art in motion, crafted for visionaries who shape the world
Technologies
The Carbogatto LR Monocoque model represents the fourth generation of Carbogatto and the first production model to undergo international audits and receive a global vehicle type approval certificate. To bring the envisioned design concept to life and meet stringent regulatory requirements, the engineering and technology team had to tackle numerous global technical challenges:
Monocoque Essence
The most complex engineering element is undoubtedly its carbon monocoque frame, built using technologies applied in Formula 1 monocoques. Weighing just 10.5 kg, it stands out for its lightweight yet highly durable construction. The unique feature lies in how the load-bearing points for the rear and front suspension are interconnected without a third side, which traditionally forms a triangle in all other frame designs.
The rigidity of the structure is achieved through additional layers of carbon fiber at load points, precisely laid out with millimeter tolerances. Additional rigidity against torsion is provided by an integrated composite battery shaft and electronics compartment.
*Range data is based on WLTP testing methodology and may vary depending on operating conditions.
Machined Aluminium and Anodizing
To minimize the suspension weight and other powertrain components, all 38 visible metal elements are crafted from T-6061 aluminum using 3 and 5-axis CNC machines and finished with anodizing.
For instance, each of the four outer cheek plates for the front and rear suspension is produced over 6 hours from an 11 kg billet, resulting in a part weighing 0.95 kg.
Precision Anatomy and Innovations
One particular challenge was to fit all the electronic components, wiring, brake hydraulic lines, and ensure necessary cooling through the lower hatch, while maintaining full water resistance at an IP67 level. Solving these problems led to the creation of a dedicated team of 20 onboard electronics developers.
Advanced Electronics
The LR Monocoque features a suite of custom-developed modules, including DC/DC converters, miniature controllers, a multifunctional display, and a custom HMI. These components integrate seamlessly into a unified system, managed by a main control module that connects all peripherals—from optics and turn signals to the throttle, display, controllers, and brake switches.

Modern communication protocols ensure compatibility with third-party power electronics, such as the SiliXcon power controller (Czech Republic), battery management systems (BMS), motors, and sensors.
The system also captures full telemetry, including accelerometers, fall detectors, and altimeters, transmitting real-time performance analytics to a central server for continuous optimization.
“In early 2024, a stand with solutions for Carbogatto was presented at an exhibition, which immediately caught the interest of several manufacturers, leading to adaptation orders. This success resulted in the spin-off of the division into driveeco_electronics, which continues to innovate in hardware, software, and HMI solutions for L1-L7 electric vehicles and special machines.
Battery and Range
Carbogatto LR Monocoque is powered by a 1750Wh (35Ah) lithium-ion removable battery, featuring an ultra-slim Smart BMS. With a range of 60km in urban settings and up to 105km* in economy mode, it sets a new standard in the micromobility class.
Charging times:
- 4.5 hours with a standard 220V charger
- 1 hour 50 minutes with a 10A supercharger (acquired separately)
*Range data is based on WLTP testing methodology and may vary depending on operating conditions.
The Art of Balance
The front suspension of the Carbogatto LR Monocoque is of the girder type, inspired by classic motorcycle cruisers. This suspension type is an ideal solution for daily urban commutes, offering a perfect balance between distinctive looks, performance, and handling comfort.
The rear suspension is equipped with a lever system that provides progressive characteristics, efficiently absorbing road imperfections. The adjustable shock absorber with flexible tuning options allows for suspension settings tailored to the user’s preferences.
Intelligent Braking and Suspension
- Brakes: Custom calipers and hydraulic lines designed in collaboration with LBN engineers, paired with high-performance ventilated brake discs for superior heat dissipation and enhanced stopping power.
- Suspension: A front girder-type system, inspired by classic motorcycle cruisers, balances aesthetics with performance. The Carbogatto LR Monocoque is factory-equipped with customized DNM shock absorbers, offering optimized damping for urban riding. For those seeking alternative configurations, RockShox or Santour suspension systems are available as optional upgrades, allowing further personalization to suit varied riding preferences.
Rare tire sizes produced in limited batches by Michelin, Pirelli, and Bridgestone. Additionally, Avon tires complement Carbogatto’s aesthetics exceptionally well, offering a striking visual appeal. However, due to a slight difference in diameter, the clearance between the tire and both the fender and hugger is minimal—enhancing the overall aesthetic but not meeting UNECE regulations.
“Carbogatto is not about speed or performance metrics—it is a statement, an experience, and an extension of individuality.
Perfectly Placed in the L1e-B Class
Carbogatto LR Monocoque is officially classified as an L1e-B motorcycle but does not require a special driver’s license in most countries. A category B or AM license is typically sufficient, allowing broader accessibility than high-end L3 motorcycles.
