Chapter 4. Forged Through Generations: Carbogatto LR Monocoque

After the structural changes in March 2020, the Carbogatto project was led by its new CEO, Artem F. Khayrullin, who focused on strengthening the engineering and administrative teams. Despite the challenges of the global lockdown, the engineering team continued refining the existing model, addressing all identified issues to meet certification requirements.
For six months, the team worked intensively to improve the Carbogatto H7 model, aiming to resolve key design challenges and prepare it for serial production. However, by August 2020, after final road tests, it became evident that the model would not meet the necessary standards. Despite extensive refinements, fundamental limitations in the frame’s structure and production feasibility prevented it from achieving the required level of performance and durability.
This led to a difficult but essential decision—to discontinue further development of the H7 and shift the focus toward an entirely new frame architecture. By that time, the first conceptual sketches of this next-generation structure had already been presented by the engineering team, led by Chief Engineer Nikolay Medvedev, marking the beginning of a bold new direction.
"... a new class was born—lightweight luxury urban monocoque motorcycles "
Defining a New Class – LR Monocoque
According to the most optimistic projections, the first prototype’s development was expected to take nine months. Unlike its predecessor, this new single-body frame marked a breakthrough in both engineering complexity and technological sophistication.
Larger, structurally superior, and fully integrated, it became the first true Monocoque frame in the motorcycle segment, redefining two-wheeled electric mobility. The design featured an enlarged battery compartment for 21700-size cells with 1.75x increased capacity, a ventilated electronics bay for optimal cooling, and seamlessly embedded channels for wiring and hydraulics, eliminating the need for external cable routing.
A unified structure that serves as both a high-strength chassis and a refined design statement, integrating all control elements within its form. It is the foundation of a new philosophy in electric motorcycle design.
Funding and Technological Advancements
In September 2021, the fourth Seed Round of funding was completed, directing investments toward the production of molds and press forms, the development of onboard electronics, and the creation of a new battery, developed in collaboration with engineers from Greenway. Additionally, the team focused on designing assembly jigs and addressing complex engineering and legal challenges.

Geopolitical Challenges and Strategic Relocation
For six months, development progressed at full speed. However, in February 2022, an escalating geopolitical conflict led to unprecedented economic sanctions, severely impacting international operations. A week later, in early March, a strategic decision was made to relocate Carbogatto’s headquarters to the UAE, ensuring stability for future growth. The prototyping facilities were closed, staff was reduced, and technical development continued in a smaller R&D office in Moscow until the completion of Carbogatto LR Monocoque.
Defying the Odds – The Drive to Continue
Relocating to the UAE was a strategic move to secure the future of Carbogatto LR Monocoque, but just as the team was setting up operations in Dubai, another challenge emerged—funding was abruptly disrupted. Investors, despite earlier commitments, fulfilled only a third of their pledged contributions, forcing the project into an uncertain financial position. Once again, the responsibility of keeping Carbogatto alive fell solely on Artem Khayrullin’s personal funds.

Abandoning LR Monocoque was never considered. It had evolved beyond just a project—it was a vision that demanded realization. Against all odds, the team pressed on, achieving a pivotal milestone with the production of the first full-scale carbon frame of Carbogatto LR Monocoque.
“At the time, it seemed to be the most morally challenging and stressful period in the company's history — a time when the choice was either to give up or to keep moving forward, relying solely on an unwavering belief in the project
The First Assembly and Refinements
By mid-summer 2022, the first assembled version of Carbogatto LR Monocoque took shape. However, it could not yet be brought to life—electronics and the battery were still under development. Final refinements and system debugging took another year.
The Road to Perfection
In May 2023, Carbogatto LR Monocoque underwent rigorous road testing. By August, the first pre-production prototype was completed, showcased in Dubai, and later presented at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Qatar.
Originally planned for fifteen units, only three were produced due to financial constraints. Engineering refinements continued into early 2024, finalizing technical documentation and service manuals. As development wrapped up, focus shifted to digital product evolution, while the engineering team moved to other key projects.
A New Chapter Begins
The intense development journey is now complete. Against all odds, Carbogatto LR Monocoque stands as a testament to vision and resilience—more than just a machine, it defines a new era in luxury electric mobility.
Carbogatto LR Monocoque is here. The journey forward knows no limits.
